Hey Smitty...
Check this out:
http://www.mesaboogie.com/Product_Info/Mark_Series/mark5/mark5.html
I notice it has "no less than 9 patents standing guard over my
tone." How many does my BlueDrive have? The number of patents I
have standing guard over my tone is very important to me. An amp
can sound pretty good, but without those patents, someone could
steal your tone, and if they did, I guess your amp wouldn't make
any sound then, right? It'd be like when Austin Powers lost his
Mojo.
What do ya think? Think they'd swap if I kicked in some cash?
Hey...
It's a joke. I'm joking!!! But you HAD to know that. I just
thought this amp (the Mesa) and their representation of it is
hilarious. It MIGHT be a pretty good amp... But how can you take
it seriously with "patents standing guard over your tone?" What
marketing guru came up with that? Ha!
The BlueDrive kicked ass this weekend. Sounded even better than
it did at first. Un-damned-real. The cabinet / speaker you
recommended is not to be believed. I say that, but I also played
those cabinets for 2 gigs with the THD, and they only sounded
slightly better than the old cabs... so it must be the amp I'm
using now, do ya think?. Not just the speakers, but the whole
rig is not to be believed. I've never heard anything like it. I
posted some more out on gearpage about it. Maybe you'll get some
orders. I hope so. Man... you have found amp Mecca here. This is
like Leo Fender's best wet dream combined with Dumble's daydream
and Marshall's drug-induced illusion. I am keeping my THD as a
backup, but I think I'd call in sick if I actually had to play
through it again after hearing this beast.
If you ever get potential sales around north AL, use me as a
reference. Anybody but a deaf man would prefer this amp over
anything else available anywhere... and I'd let 'em come hear it
if it would help you sell one.
Some guy out on gearpage said his BlueDrive made his 1x12 sound
like a 4x12. That is EXACTLY what I thought too, only I was
actually thinking like 2 4x12 cabs stacked vertically... and I'm
not talking about volume... it's the fullness... the
resonance... just the way you FEEL the notes when you play them.
Hell... you heard this thing before I did... so you KNOW what I
mean. You nailed it this time, Smitty. This is the amp at the
end of its evolution... if only it had some patents standing
guard over my tone. ;)
Talk Later,
JeffBack
